The
APS Add-on: Automated Guided Vehicle expands the Agile Production
Simulation (APS) with an additional Automated Guided Vehicle (FTS).
This system is responsible for intralogistics within the APS, enabling
flexible and agile processes. The additional FTS significantly enhances
the capabilities of intralogistics. Parallelization and prioritization
in the production workflow can be planned, tested, and experienced. At
the same time, the complexity of logistical processes increases.
The
Driverless Transport System navigates within the Agile Production
Simulation using ultrasonic sensors, line sensors, push buttons, and a
phototransistor. Initial integration with the Agile Production
Simulation is described in the documentation and can be completed within
a few minutes.
The Mecanum Omniwheels enable multidirectional
driving, allowing for space-saving and efficient transport of workpieces
within the Agile Production Simulation. The FTS receives its driving
commands from the central control unit of the Agile Production
Simulation using the VDA 5050 industry standard. For power, the FTS uses
a fischertechnik 8.4V 1800mAh battery pack. When the battery reaches a
defined low level, the FTS automatically moves to the integrated
charging station. The use of the additional FTS also unlocks additional
learning content in the Digital Learning Platform.
Software
Python programs are preloaded onto the FTS controller.
The MQTT protocol is used for communication.
All source codes are also freely available on GitHub.
